People at ASO

Take a look behind the scenes: our employees explain what ASO means to them.

Heiko Elbers, Head of IT

With ASO since 2016
“My professional career began with an apprenticeship as an electrician, followed by a second apprenticeship as an IT systems administrator, combining technical knowledge with business management aspects. Further training as an Operational Professional IT Consultant with a focus on IT strategy, project management and customer consulting laid the foundation for my subsequent self-employment abroad, where I independently implemented international IT projects. I have been with ASO GmbH since 2016, initially as an application support engineer and later as Head of IT. In this role, I am responsible for strategic IT alignment, leading digitalisation projects and managing the entire IT infrastructure. Alongside this, I have continuously furthered my education, including as an IT security and data protection officer, and deepened my expertise in system administration, network technology and web development.”

Günter Meier, Head of Warehouse & Logistics

With ASO since 2007
“On 15 June 2007, I began my professional career at ASO as a production assistant in what was then the production department – there was no separate logistics department at that time. Through continuous training, I was able to develop my skills steadily. I have been a warehouse logistics specialist since 2013 and a trainer for our warehouse clerks since 2015. Further qualifications as a safety officer, fire safety assistant and hazardous goods officer followed.
Thanks to my commitment and the experience I have gained, I took over as head of the Warehouse & Logistics department in 2019 and have also been acting as deputy production manager since then.”

Sascha Wöstheinrich, Board Assistant

WIth ASO since 2019
“In August 2019, I began my training as an industrial clerk, which I was able to shorten and successfully complete in January 2022. Immediately afterwards, I moved to product management, where I was primarily responsible for maintaining and managing article data in the ERP system. In this role, it was particularly important to work in a structured and detailed manner to ensure high data quality and smooth processes in downstream processes. During my time in product management, I also had the opportunity to complete two longer stays at our US subsidiary in New Jersey. The aim of these stays was to align administrative processes more closely with the structures and standards of the German parent company. These international assignments not only opened up new perspectives for me, but also strengthened my ability to coordinate various processes across locations.
At the end of 2022, I took on a new role as Board Assistant. In this position, I now support the management in a wide range of areas – from organisational and administrative tasks to content-related work. At the same time, I continue to maintain article and master data in the ERP system, thus supporting product management in this very area. The combination of my role as an assistant at management level and my in-depth experience in the ERP environment allows me to effectively combine detailed operational work with overarching contexts.”
